Our Approach

approach

The Manotick Arts Camp was founded in 2000 in an effort to expose children and youth to the arts. The Manotick Arts Camp strives to create a non-threatening atmosphere whereby students are encouraged to express their creativity . The focus of the camp is on team building, being the best you can be and helping others to realize the same. Confidence is nurtured in each student as they learn to realize their strengths and discover their creative voice. Professional teachers of Drama, Music Dance and Visual art promote skill building in each of the arts areas. Hear notable remarks from each of our teachers:

Drama:

“Drama is about life experience. The fun-filled and exciting journey of bringing together a collective dramatic work is something that requires cooperation and dedication. That is why a successful production brings such a fulfilling sensation to everyone involved."
Adam Breadner

Vocal:

"The voice is the most powerful communicative tool we possess. Learning effective use of the voice as an instrument of song or speech is an invaluable skill.”
S. Stanutz

Instrumental:

“Every child is unique. Seek out in each child their unique contribution, work to enhance it and as they shine individually so the show will shine too.”
T. Stanutz

Dance:

“Dance and Acting? It is important to do. You can't learn dance by talking about it… The same could be said of acting. Learn through movement, learn through trying. If a movement doesn't work, modify it and try again.. When it works, then begins the process by repetition. Teach the body to do without thinking about it. That can be a hard lesson to learn, but it will be used often in other pursuits.” C. Cuffari

Visual Art:

“ Kids have such great imaginations. To limit them is to limit their creativity.”
C. Gazzard
